Yes, this series of images will come from my film camera - minolta xg1. Well it’s not mine really - I borrowes from my neighbours, big thanks goes to them.
“I shoot 75% film. I’m not proud of it. Film’s nostalgic. It’s easy. The kids love the look of it regardless of how shitty the lighting or composition. There’s a whole visual language and aesthetic of bad film photography (exempli gratia, lomography). People eat it up. Digital doesn’t have the same yet. It seems clinical in comparison. In a sense, its harder to make good digital photos.”
Scanned some pictures I made with my film camera. Russian (or soviet) film which was “best before 1991”. Had to role it manually because it came packed in some black material and then aluminium foil. Did it in a darkened bathroom. Not a big deal, but I managed to role it in different direction. Doh. First timer. By the way - no aprils fool joke here.
Ice Ice baby.
Gintaras. Good shape. Summer of 2008. Sun is helping him. Remember trying to get it right. Take a note - this weeks photos aren’t manipulated in any way and scanned as they were.
Domas. Uh, I admire this guy. MIR project - check out their Myspace songs. I’ll post their video, stay tuned.
From my lomo collection, took this back at Saulės loft. We shoot few Polaroids then, too.
P.S. It’s double exposure by the way - took a shot of ceilings with interesting lamp, full of balls and then portrait of Domas. Interesting effect - he is spinning balls in his hands.
Scan week. I made some scans from my lomo camera collection. Will burst it out trough this week. Starting now.
She told me that she finished her second 36 frame film roll. Can’t wait for results to come - I just loved and LMFAO watching previous. I’m so proud of her.
BTW - she is shooting with old soviet VILIA camera, semi-automatic. Another blog entry from a guy using VILIA. And looks like lomogaphy.com is on official beta now, adding new features. Great, I’m looking forward to lent Smena 8M from Karolis. And BTW2 - I have old Fed 5 around my house. Need to fix it.
